Association shall be comprised of Members, Associate Members, and Honorary Members as described below. Memberships are based on personal qualifications and are non-transferable.
Members — Any individual is eligible for membership if, as a civilian was employed by the Station for a period of three years or more, or while on active duty in the U.S. Navy was assigned for a tour of duty at the Station is eligible for membership. Employees of PHD/NSWC are not eligible for membership until they have departed the Command. Membership in the Association is established through the completion and forwarding of an application to the Membership Committee. Members are eligible to vote in the Association elections, and to hold an elective office in the Association.
Associate Members — Those individuals who have been associated with the Station for an extended period of time, or those who, in rare cases, have rendered a service, or services, which have enhanced the reputation, health, well-being, or mission of the Station. The period of association or the degree of the “value-added” to the Station which provides the eligibility for Associate Membership shall be at the discretion of the Board and shall be decided by a majority vote of all Board members. Associate Membership is established through the completion and submittal of an application to the Membership Committee, and acceptance of the Board of Directors and may be revoked by a vote of the Board of Directors. Associate Members have no voting authority in the Association, nor may they hold office in the Association.
Honorary Members — Two honorary memberships are established in the Association to be filled by the current Commander and the current Executive Director of PHD/NSWC. Additional honorary memberships can be designated by the Associations’ Board of Directors. The Honorary Members have no voting authority in the Association, nor may they hold office in the Association.
